Newly constructed condos in Uptown

UPTOWN $150,000 to $274,900

The big windows in the condos at the newly constructed 950 West Leland provide good views of the lively Uptown neighborhood—but the heavily insulated walls and ceilings guarantee that residents won’t be disturbed by all the urban noise. “We’ve been here at open houses on Sunday when the streets are busy, and you can hear a pin drop inside,” says Lisa McGuirt, the Baird & Warner agent who is representing the condos with Sara Zamora.

Two dozen of the building’s 60 units remain for sale. The condos are being sold by the bank that funded construction because the original developer died—an important distinction at a time when some lenders are selling condos on which they had foreclosed.

A series of price cuts (the last came in late 2010) has taken the most expensive available condo—a two-bedroom, two-bath layout with about 1,190 square feet of space—down from the low $300,000s to $274,900. The least expensive condo is a 748-square-foot one-bedroom unit priced at $150,000. Each condo comes with one indoor parking space.
