This energetic grocery store exec went from a meat slicer at Dominick’s to president of the chain. Today, he’s the CEO of Roundy’s, a Milwaukee-based conglomerate no one here had heard of until 2010, when Mariano entered the Chicago market with his namesake chain of grocery stores. By last year’s end, all 13 sites were each reporting about $1 million a week in revenues. The number of Mariano’s stores in Chicago is expected to triple in the next two years, starting with his full-circle acquisition of 11 Dominick’s locations.
