This West Side native and streetwear icon (né Joseph Robinson) rode into 2020 on a wave of buzz and brand recognition. He kicked it off with a splashy sneaker collaboration with New Balance that yielded one of the hottest collections of the year. Then, in December, he announced a partnership with Converse, launching it with a retro-chic short film inspired by the music and looks of Chicago circa 1976, replete with disco balls, oversize sunglasses, and Afros. The centerpiece of the collection, the Pro Leather, features a floral-embroidered black upper in suede and velvet, a glittery purple sole, and corduroy patches spelling out “JFG” — in case there was any doubt about who you were wearing.
