May 1, 2010 – The Heartland Alliance held a Preview Party at the home of Jill and Dick Gammonley to announce the features for the 2010 Celebration of Home & Garden tour to be held on June 12th in Harbor Country, Michigan. The event was sponsored by Rika Yoshida and Joe Mansueto, the Sara Lee Foundation, and Chicago Home + Garden.
The 17th Annual Celebration of Home & Garden benefits the work of Heartland Alliance for Human Needs & Human Rights, an organization that helps people who are threatened by poverty or danger to improve their lives and realize their human rights. Heartland Alliance provides housing, health care, economic security, and legal protection services to more than 200,000 people annually. For more than 120 years, Heartland Alliance has been providing award-winning solutions to society’s most difficult problems, and is a leader in developing affordable and supportive housing. Proceeds from the tour will help develop housing and expand services for people living in poverty in southwestern Michigan and Chicago.
