For Maria Pinto, fashion doesn’t mean dysfunction. In two decades as a designer to the stars, the Bridgeport native has dressed the likes of Oprah, Mick Jagger, and Michelle Obama in her hallmark low-maintenance clothing. “We shouldn’t have to compromise on comfort,” says Pinto, 59, whose newest line of women’s wear, M2057—named for the year she’ll turn 100—is her most smartly refined yet.
