On the opposite end of Logan Square from The Burlington sits another neighborhood newbie with a completely different vibe: The Orbit Room (2959 N. California Ave.), owned by the husband-and-wife team Adriana and Dirk Nebbeling.

If the Dandinos are going gray before their time, the Nebbelings are the coolest parents you never had. “We got a second wind,” Adriana, mother to three grown kids, says of the couple’s late entrée into the nightlife biz.

The Orbit Room presents a sleeker, more modernized take on the corner-tavern theme, featuring a leather-trimmed bar, and leather booths and banquettes lining a mirrored wall.

A full menu is available, with brunch on Sundays, but it’s the beer list that will get your juices flowing. A Lindemans Framboise goes for a steep $12, but you can get Hamm’s for $3 ($2 on Saturdays) and Chimay for $6. Music, which figures heavily into the vibe, runs from George Clinton to Bloc Party.
