Nineteen months after moving in, John and Carin Frucci have sold their 14-room mansion next to the exclusive Indian Hill Club in Winnetka. "A house they had always admired came on [the market], so they purchased that," says the Fruccis’ sales agent, Dinny Dwyer of Jean Wright Real Estate.

Built in 1924, the slate-roofed brick house the Fruccis are leaving has six bedrooms, five-plus bathrooms, six fireplaces, a pine-paneled library, and a sunroom that looks south over a pool and a wooded 1.75-acre lot. The couple bought the house in January 2007 for $4.3 million, moving from a lakefront property in Wilmette. They listed it for sale with Dwyer in April 2008 and sold it at the end of July. At press­time, no information about the buyer had appeared in public records.

Carin Healy Frucci is the daughter of Denis and Sondra Healy, who together led the Willowbrook-based Turtle Wax for more than three decades. The company, which markets more than 1,250 car waxes, cleaners, and other car-care products, dates from the 1940s when Benjamin Hirsch (Frucci’s grandfather) began making car wax in the family bathtub. His wife, Marie, poured the mixture into bottles, which her husband then sold to Chicago-area gas stations under the brand name Plastone. Frucci’s brother, Denis John Healy, is the company’s current CEO. The Fruccis could not be reached for comment.
