Paul Phelps, MD, FACS

Dr. Paul Phelps is a board-certified oculofacial plastic surgeon and is the founder and CEO of Chicago Oculofacial Plastic Surgery. He is one of the most sought-after experts in the field of cosmetic eyelid and facial plastic surgery. Dr. Phelps performs hundreds of blepharoplasties (eyelid lift or eye bag removals) every year and often includes these procedures in full face rejuvenation. Many patients seek out his expertise in laser rejuvenation and elect to have their entire eyelid surgery done with a laser instead of scalpels. A native of the Midwest, Dr. Phelps completed his undergraduate degrees in chemistry and neuroscience at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis. He attended Drexel University College of Medicine and spent an extra year of medical school to conduct corneal stem cell research as a Fulbright Scholar at the Aravind Eye Hospital in Madurai, India. Dr. Phelps then went on to complete his ophthalmology residency at Cook County Health and his first fellowship in ophthalmic pathology at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Dr. Phelps then completed a second fellowship in oculofacial plastic surgery in Albany, New York.

As an internationally recognized expert in cosmetic facial plastic surgery, Dr. Phelps has been recognized as a Top Doctor by Castle Connolly. He will be a featured speaker for the fifth Multidisciplinary Masters of Blepharoplasty Symposium in Sydney, Australia, later this year. He trains residents and fellows on his innovative and proven techniques for eyelid and facial enhancement. Dr. Phelps spends his free time exploring the Chicagoland dining and cultural scenes with his wife and two sons.
