There are courtyard buildings—and then there is Dover Courts, where the extra-wide, extra-deep courtyard, as well as the building’s placement far back from the sidewalk, provides for lots of outdoor space. The three-story building, built in 1914 at 4601-4617 North Dover Street, is a red brick Arts and Crafts structure with terra cotta doorways and a roof partially clad in green clay tile (new asphalt roofing covers the rest of the building).

The six condos that remain for sale are all one-bedroom units, although some of them are called “junior one-bedrooms” because they have no closets in the bedroom. Each condo has a balcony and comes equipped with a 37-inch plasma TV and restored radiator heating. Three units, with similar floor plans and between 650 and 700 square feet, are priced at $159,900. Three top-floor units that face to the south are priced at $169,900.

Bella Properties Chicago renovated the 64-unit building in 2007; new owners started moving in that September. The building, situated on the western edge of the Uptown neighborhood, has no parking, but Bella’s agent, Debra Lanucha (who lives in Dover Courts), says on-street parking is always available nearby.
