Hundreds of protestors flooded downtown Chicago this afternoon, blocking traffic and the Christmas Kindelmart while they marched around the Thompson Center, the State Street Macy’s, the Michigan Avenue Bridge, and the Chicago Board of Trade. Organized by a few Chicago activists on Facebook, the group demanded the removal of Mayor Rahm Emanuel and State's Attorney Anita Alverez from office following the release of several police videos showing fatal shootings.
Activists first met at noon on the corner of Washington and Dearborn near Daley Plaza. The group soon marched through the Loop, up Michigan Avenue, and eventually to State and Division Streets. Here is what the crowd looked like today.
