Free agency day came and went, and now we have the first news about who is coming and going from the Bears roster in the new season.

On the Team

Jermon Bushrod (left tackle): Formerly of the New Orleans Saints, Bushrod is expected to shore up the team's offensive line. Jay Cutler is already singing his praises.

Martellus Bennett (tight end): After stints on the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants, Bennett comes to the Bears to replace outgoing TE Kellen Davis (see below). Bennett signed a four-year contract with the team, according to the Tribune.

Off the Team

Kellen Davis (tight end): News came Wednesday that the Bears cut Davis, the starting tight end for the last two seasons. The official Chicago Bears website just said he, "failed to perform up to expectations."

Matt Spaeth (tight end): Like Davis, Spaeth was released after the Bears locked down Bennett.

Matt Toeaina (defensive lineman): According to the Sun-Times, the Bears asked Toeaina, who's been on the team for six seasons, to take a pay cut. He refused. The Bears are set to release him as well.
