Somehow we've entered into a table tennis boom, as not one but two ping-pong bars have opened in the downtown area in 2016. AceBounce (230 N. Clark St., Loop, 773-219-0900), a British import, isn't all that different from its competitor Spin (ping-pong plus cocktails, more or less), but it's got a slightly more party-friendly edge, with a DJ, so-called "Game Gurus" who help coach teams on how to make the best of their competition, and occasional blacklight breaks.

Other nice features include the Parlor, a space with a private table that can be rented out for events, plus lots of pizza. And, to please your inner frat bro, they've also got a beer pong set-up.
