Bar Lupo (217 W. Huron St., River North) is best categorized as a "bar-staurant"–half comforting Italian spot, half late-night boozing destination, all set to a blaring rock-and-roll soundtrack. And in spite of its River North address, it's a surprisingly chill destination, far off the beaten path of your average Saturday night clubgoer.

When we visited, the split was about 60/40 between diners and drinkers, though both are welcome regardless of the hour. As the evening creeps on, you can accent your cocktail with a selection of late-night bar bites.
