In its early days, Quiote (2456 N. California Ave., Logan Square) has already become quite the hot commodity. Chef Dan Salls' regional Mexican fare is part of the attraction, but there's also a crowd gathering in the spot's basement bar, where mezcal steals the spotlight.
The cocktail menu only features the agave spirit, so if you're still not on board with the stuff, be warned. (They've got a full bar, of course, but the totally mezcal-averse might want to skip this one.) It's the perfect stop for a post-dinner nightcap.
