Remember when we told you to mark your calendars for March 8 as the day the long-awaited cider bar, the Northman (4337 N. Lincoln Ave., North Center), would finally open? Go ahead and unmark them. According to a release issued today, the Fountainhead Group has delayed the spot's opening yet again, declining to provide a rescheduled date. (When the project was first announced, the plan was to open in the spring of 2014.)
This comes a few weeks after Cleetus Friedman, the restaurant group's well-liked executive chef, announced his departure. He was replaced by former Browntrout chef Sean Sanders.
Managing partner Aaron Zacharias alluded to this in a statement, saying that "with this small delay, we can provide our chef and our whole team with the extra time to be sure everything that comes out of the kitchen will match our collective high standards." We'll be waiting.
