The owners of Taco Joint have replaced their next-door concept The Mexican with BBQ Joint (1967 N. Halsted St., Lincoln Park), a Mexican/American BBQ mashup serving things such as BBQ al pastor burritos, smoked brisket tacos, and Shiner Bock-infused margaritas.

Perhaps signaling a shift from the doughnut fad to a cookie trend, Warm Belly Bakery (1148 W. Monroe St., West Loop) is open and whipping up 30 varieties, ranging from a PB&J-stuffed version to a savory cookie with meat and cheese.

If you’re jonesing for lunchtime dumplings from Packed (1321 E. 57th St., Hyde Park, 312-219-6544), you’re in luck—as of this week, they’re now delivering through their website.

Remember that tangled Purple Pig (500 N. Michigan Ave., River North, 312-464-1744) lawsuit? Well, it’s over. Both sides reached a settlement at the end of February, and it seems that Scott Harris’s affiliation with the cheese-and-meat emporium has ended.
