Dinosaur Bar-B-Que (923 W. Weed St., Lincoln Park, 312-462-1053) comes roaring into the Chicago market with a giant dining room, a beer garden, live music, and, yes, barbecue.

It ain’t the most refined thing you can eat in the city, but that doesn’t stop the straightforwardly named Taco in a Bag (4603 N. Lincoln Ave, Lincoln Square, 773-250-2437) from already having a loyal following thanks to its roots in a food court in West Dundee and an appearance on the Food Network’s Food Court Wars.

More dining pastabilities in Bucktown—there’s now a second location of Lincoln Park standby Pasta Bowl (1852 W. North Ave., 773-935-2695) that’s just as noodle-intensive as the original.

Make room in your festival-season calendar for the first-ever Chicago Food + Wine Festival, coming to Lincoln Park for three days starting on August 28. The big event is a team effort between Texas-based chef Tim Love, the promoters of Lollapalooza, and (unsurprisingly given the name) Food & Wine magazine. There will be dozens of heavy-hitting chefs from both Chicago and around the country on hand for all manner of dining activities and demonstrations. See the full line-up online.
