Openings

Wicker Park bellies can now regularly fill up on Bill Kim’s Michelin-lauded rice, noodle, and dumpling dishes at the second location of Urbanbelly (1542 N. Damen Ave.), opening tonight in the recently closed Penny’s Noodle Shop space.

Jibaritos y Más (3400 W. Fullerton Ave., Logan Square), a counter service BYOB specializing in, yep, the jibarito, is the latest player on the Puerto Rican food scene.

And on the Ethiopian food front, Tesfa (1023 W. Wilson Ave., Uptown) serves a 27-item menu of breakfast, lunch, and dinner dishes for dine-in (although there are only 10 seats) and takeout.

Morsels

Last week, we mentioned both Xoco (449 N. Clark St., River North) and Lost Lake (3154 W. Diversey Ave., Logan Square) were temporarily shuttered due to small fires. A week later, Xoco is back up and running (as of yesterday evening), but Lost Lake’s return to form will be a bit delayed. In the interim, the tiki team is popping up at bars all over town—catch them next at Off-Site Bar at Longman & Eagle (2657 N. Kedzie Ave., Logan Square) tomorrow night starting at 5 p.m.

If you’re jonesing for an early taste of Arbella (112 W. Grand Ave., River North), the forthcoming cocktail bar and Tanta sister spot, you can get it delivered. They’re joining forces with online service Cocktail Courier to offer one of their signature drinks, the Hanky Panky (a combo of gin, sweet vermouth, and Fernet Branca) for delivery through the month of April.
