Element Collective is (from left to right): Chris Dexter, John Warken, Chris Freeman, and Jared Van Camp.
Element Collective, the team behind Old Town Social, Nellcôte, and RM Champagne Salon, have taken possession of the space at 419 West Superior Street for what they’re calling a progressive new dining concept, slated to open early this winter.
The location, which held Zealous for 13 years, encompasses 6,200 square feet and sits near the Chicago stop on the Brown Line, isn’t in a nightlife-dense area, but the owners think it might be It soon. In the press release, the partner Chris Dexter is quoted as saying, “With all of the creative-types in interior design, art and fashion just around the corner on Franklin—not to mention the massive residential growth in the last several years, we see the potential for this area to absolutely explode. We want to be ahead of the curve.”
Name, menu broadstrokes, and chef remain unannounced. Chef Jared Van Camp, an Element partner, will not run the kitchen.
