Short rib course at iNG

Here’s what’s on the menu for the week of February 18:

  • Meet WGN Radio’s Nick Digilio and the local artist Tony Fitzpatrick over dinner and drinks at Gale Street Inn (4914 N. Milwaukee Ave., 773-725-1300) tomorrow at 6:30 p.m. The buffet dinner that includes ribs, salmon, and jambalaya and two drinks from the bar costs $30, a part of which the restaurant will donate to the Greater Chicago Food Depository. See Gale Street’s website to make reservations.
  • Pair your cocktail with half-price sushi rolls at Hub 51 (51 W. Hubbard St., 312-828-0051). The restaurant is now offering half off all maki (normally $9 to $15) from 3 to 6 p.m. and from 11 p.m. until close every day.
  • Experience miracles in our time with Homaro Cantu’s “miracle berry.” Tuesday through Thursday every week, iNG (951 W. Fulton Market, 855-834-6464) serves a four-course tasting menu with three drink pairings and two doses of the berry, which makes sour foods taste sweet. Reservations are recommended; $50 per person, excluding tax and tip.
  • Canoodle at Spiaggia (980 N. Michigan Ave., 312-280-2750) over its new pasta-centric tasting menu series consisting of six courses for $95 (not including wine pairings). From now through March, dishes include Spanish red prawns and Nantucket Bay scallops in a fennel emulsion with herb-filled pasta sheets, ricotta-pecorino agnolotti with Périgord black truffle pâté, and pork-skin-filled pasta with chicken roulade and cracklings.
