It’s paczki time. If you’re looking for a place to partake in the traditional filled doughnut, Firecakes (68 W. Hubbard Ave., River North, 312-329-6500; 2453 N. Clark St., Lincoln Park, 773-666-5377) has a raspberry and blood orange jelly version, a chocolate custard kind, and a lemon curd variation in both small ($2.19) and large ($2.67) sizes. You can call to order in advance.
Celebrate Chinese New Year with a family-style feast at Mott St (1401 N. Ashland Ave., Wicker Park, 773-687-9977). Parties of four or more can choose from two ten-course menus (one with a sampling of plates for $48.88 per person, the other anchored around a pork chop and whole fish for $68.88 per person). Both include plenty of General Tso’s lamb sweetbreads and wok-fried Brussels sprouts.
Pig out on Mangalitsa pork at Perennial Virant (1800 N. Lincoln Ave., Lincoln Park, 312-981-7070), where they’ll be showcasing the breed’s meat in a four-course, family-style meal (you’ll find pig in everything from the confit shoulder appetizer to lard coffee cake dessert). Call the restaurant to make a reservation for the $55 meal, which starts with cocktails at 6 p.m.

If you love someone, say it with pizza. Specifically pizza from Spacca Napoli (1769 W. Sunnyside Ave., Ravenswood, 773-878-2420), which is marking its tenth anniversary this weekend with a special menu of ten of its top pies and live music on Valentine’s Day evening. They’re recommending reservations for tonight.
