You probably already know that Parson's Chicken & Fish (2952 W. Armitage Ave., Logan Square, 773-384-3333) has a killer, sprawling patio in the summertime. But now you can make use of it in the colder months, too–this weekend marked the official opening of the bar's brand-new ice rink, as well as a special menu of hot drinks for sipping while you skate.
Be warned: This rink ain't fancy, more a backyard operation than the ice ribbon at Maggie Daley Park. But there are still skates to rent, room for a dozen or so on the ice, and hot drinks (think glühwein and Mexican coffee) to drink around the fire pit when you need a break.
When you want a break from the elements, there's a new indoor area to check out, too–the bar recently added an enclosed patio that can be opened up once the weather changes. Two new attractions meant the bar was hopping when we stopped by this weekend.
Here's what we saw on Saturday night.
