Openings

Pork and Mindy’s (1623 N. Milwaukee Ave., Bucktown, 773-799-8759), a sandwich joint from Jeff Mauro (a.k.a. the Sandwich King from the Food Network series of the same name), is open with a menu of mostly porky delights that also includes salads, sides, and proprietary sauces.

The owners of dearly departed Nuevo Léon wasted very little time mourning the loss of their restaurant in a fire last month: Last week they opened Cantón Regio (1510 W. 18th St., Pilsen, 312-733-3045), a new Mexican concept, just across the street.

West Loop’s chicest new boutique, Rider (1115 W. Lake St., 312-243-0464), is now pouring Bow Truss coffee and serving organic cotton candy (because why not?!) and small-batch chocolates at an in-store coffee bar.

Following a quick closure, Deleece has resurfaced with a new concept (farm-to-table), chef (Bob Bagley, Sola), and name: Grassroots (3747 N. Southport Ave., Lake View, 773-325-1710).
