Monday, 6/3: Whether or not you’re heading to the Stones’ show tonight, get the satisfaction of a sweet pre-show pizza-and-beer deal at Nellcôte (833 W. Randolph St., 312-432-0500) (which was, incidentally, named for the band’s notorious French mansion). From 4 to 7 p.m., $10 buys you any pizza and beer.
Tuesday, 6/4: Spend Taco Tuesday at Antique Taco (1360 N. Milwaukee Ave., 773-687-8697), where Lee Wolen (The Lobby at The Peninsula) rolls out the taco version of surf-and-turf as the latest installment of the Wicker Park cantina’s Guest Chef Series. Wolen’s creation is a cross-cultural mash-up of grilled octopus, pulled pork, kimchi, and aïoli ($4.50), and will be available at Antique Taco through the end of the month. Two dollars from the sale of each taco will benefit Common Threads.
Thursday, 6/6: Pretend you’ve jetted off to Deutschland for the premier installment of “Hot Sünner Nights,” the beercentric Thursday evening special at Bangers & Lace (1670 W. Division St., 773-252-6499). As is traditional in Cologne, Germany, Sünner Kolsch will be served in a bottomless glass—that is, your server will keep filling ‘er up, marking your amount of refills ($4 per seven-ounce fill) on a coaster until you place said coaster over your glass to signal you’ve been sated. Keep all that beer company with some smoked Kielbasa skewers ($7).
Saturday, 6/8: You’ve anxiously anticipated your first taste of DryHop Brewers (3155 N. Broadway, 773-857-3155), and the wait officially (sort of) ends today. From 1 to 3 p.m., stop by the Lake View craft brewery and restaurant to peep the space and purchase and fill a growler ($10 for a filled 64-ounce growler) with Shark Meets Hipster wheat IPA or Batch 101 cream ale. You’ll have to wait until the official opening (June 13) to sample chef Pete Repak’s culinary treats.
Sunday, 6/9: Clock in for The Day Shift at Scofflaw (3201 W. Armitage Ave., 773-252-9700), which now opens its doors at noon every Saturday and Sunday for your day-drinking and brunching pleasure. Snag some real estate on the 33-seat patio and check out special daytime cocktails such as a passion fruit Bellini ($8) and chilled, bottled La Colombe coffee ($5), along with new summertime dishes—bourbon pecan sticky bun ($5) and confit rabbit hash ($10)—from chef Mickey Neely.
