There is a time for everything, and right now, it's time for street fest season. The season for these outdoor block parties/traffic inconveniences unofficially began this past weekend with the sprawling (and sweaty) Do-Division Street Fest, pulled together by the West Town Chamber of Commerce and featuring two stages of music programming from the Empty Bottle and Subterranean.

We stopped by Saturday evening, and the thing was packed. Crowds for musical acts such as JD McPherson were stuffed shoulder-to-shoulder. Those who weren't catching a show were grabbing (expensive!) beers and street meats such as the gator sausages from Frontier between ducking in to the bars lining Division Street to watch the NBA Western Conference Finals. 7-Eleven even swung by with an eight-spigot Slurpee truck.
