Summer is rosé season, and it pairs pretty well with sushi—test the combo out at Japonais by Morimoto (600 W. Chicago Ave., River North, 312-822-9600), where every Wednesday night you’ll be able to score two glasses of the sipper and two rolls (options include spicy tuna, yellowtail with scallions, and salmon and avocado) for $38—and you also can get the deal on the spot’s riverwalk patio.
If you prefer your booze a little smokier, Nacional 27 (325 W. Huron St., River North, 312-664-2727) beverage manager Elyse Fuller will be showing how best to incorporate mezcal into cocktails (such as a mezcal mule with grapefruit juice and ginger beer.) To sign up for the $25 class, which starts at 6:30 p.m., go to the restaurant’s website.
