Sample some of downstate Illinois’ best brews at South of 80, the fifth annual beer celebration at the Green Lady (3328 N. Lincoln Ave., Roscoe Village, 773-525-5571). Eight breweries will be represented, including Rolling Meadows Brewing of Cantrall and Triptych of Savoy. The taps start flowing at 7 p.m.

Celebrate Remington’s (20 N. Michigan Ave., Loop, 312-782-6000) first birthday by washing down $1 oysters with $1 glasses of Sauvignon Blanc all day long. 

If you want to learn a badass trick to show off at your forthcoming summer soirées, stop by the Bristol (2152 N.
