For its first time out, the Lively Water Whiskey Festival did pretty well for itself. The celebration of everyone's favorite brown liquor took over the Field Museum (1400 S. Lake Shore Dr., Museum Campus) on Saturday evening and brought out hundreds of connoisseurs, who spent two hours perusing the offerings of distilleries from all over the globe (and from our own backyard—Few, Koval, Chicago Distilling Company, and Journeyman all made appearances.)
Admission included plenty of whiskey samples, of course, but also a mixology session, a branded tasting glass, and the opportunity to sip whiskey while snapping a selfie with the dinosaur skeletons on display in the tasting area.
Here's what else we saw when we stopped in.
