Magic words: All-you-can-eat mussels and frites at Chez Moi (2100 N. Halsted St., Lincoln Park, 773-871-2100) starting today. It’s the centerpiece of their ten-day Moules Fest, and there are four takes on the seafood specialty (one with white wine and shallots, another with lobster cream) that you can gorge on for $25 a person.

It’s day one of the two-day 312 Urban Block Party at Goose Island (1800 W. Fulton St., West Loop), which pairs live music from bands such as Tune-Yards and Calexico with rare beers from the Goose Island cellars (Muddy, this year’s Bourbon County Stout.) Learn how to make brunch like one of the best in the biz, Gale Gand, at a cooking demonstration at Read It & Eat (2142 N. Halsted St., Lincoln Park, 773-666-6158). Gand, currently in the kitchen at Spritz Burger in Lake View, will show off how to make three dishes and one drink during the event, which starts at 10 a.m. Your $50 ticket gets you samples of everything—pick it up here.

Sneak a taste of what’s to come at El Che Bar (from John Manion, Mark Steuer, and Paige Jacoby) at a preview dinner at La Sirena Clandestina (954 W. Fulton Market, West Loop, 312-226-5300). You’ll get four courses from the group, spotlighting many of the same Latin flavors as La Sirena (with a special emphasis on Argentina’s cuisine, as the team just returned from a trip there.
