There's an art to the corner bar: it has to be comfy and welcoming, dark but not overly so, noisy but not deafening. Spilt Milk (2758 W. Fullerton Ave., Logan Square), a new offering from power bartender trio Matty Eggleston (Nico Osteria), Tony Selna (Sparrow), and Jason Turley (Bar Deville), fits the bill, making excellent drinks in an approachable space a few steps from Logan Square's prime nightlife strip.

Though there are plenty of beer and wine options, most patrons stick to the cocktail list, which features twists on classics such as the Concord Julep, where the minty refresher gets spiked with concord grape juice.
