Though touted as a punk rock-themed bar, Good Measure (226 W. Chicago Ave., River North) has an aesthetic that makes it feel more like a '50s diner with some punk edge. There's a checkered tile floor, four high-back booths, and leather swivel barstools. Bathing the entire place in a surreal glow are red lights that are just bright enough to let you check out the vintage punk-ish art that decorate the walls.
Although the bar's soundtrack was focused firmly on punk rock on a recent Saturday visit, this isn't Exit (its home, after all, is River North). You can still hold a conversation over the music, or come in wearing loafers and not feel out of place.
