If you missed St. Vincent, a.k.a. Annie Clark, a couple of months back at the Hideout, don’t make the same mistake twice. In Clark’s beguiling art pop, Tin Pan Alley melodies weave among dance beats; ethereal lyrics tell of black holes and rainbows; and flowery keyboards coexist with industrial-rock distortion. A wonder.

His voice is as salty-sweet as slow-smoked barbecue, and his many hits with The Band helped establish that group’s position at the heart of pop culture. These days Helm mostly plays in his barn/studio in Woodstock, NY, so consider this concert a rare treat.

The CSO’s daring duo returns: Composers-in-residence Mark-Anthony Turnage and Osvaldo Golijov host the U.S. debut of Turnage’s Out of Black Dust, plus Golijov’s Mariel for cello and—wait for it—marimba, and a premiere by the laptop maverick Jeremy Flower, best known for his collaboration with Golijov on Ainadamar, the gripping, Grammy-winning tribute to Federico García Lorca.
