Although the days of the sun-drenched street fest season are behind us, Shaw’s Oyster Fest proved to be one hot ticket on Friday night.
A shoulder-to-shoulder crowd packed the River North shindig not only for the chance to slurp oysters and Goose Island beer, but to see the illustrious bluesman Buddy Guy. Guy was battling a cold, but that didn’t seem to faze the local legend, who dropped the F-bomb and restarted “Hoochie Coochie Man” after he determined the crowed wasn’t singing along loudly enough.
The evening was a bit nippy, but as some drunk guy in the crowd proclaimed, it was “A Chicago night—drinking outside in October and partying.”
