Punch House (1227 W. 18th St.), a hotly anticipated basement bar from Bruce Finkelman and Craig Golden (Longman & Eagle, Empty Bottle) opened late last week in tandem with its upstairs neighbor, Dusek's.

While Dusek's is a polished, Longman-esque space, Punch House is quite the opposite: The feel is distinctly "1970s Dad's basement" (in the most charming way possible).

A delightfully mixed crowd—including a dude donning a jogging suit and a bluetooth—descended the stairs Saturday night for a first taste of Punch House's eight housemade draft punches.
