List Price: $1.849 million
Sale Price: Under contract; price not yet disclosed
The Property: Having signed a five-year, $16.875-million contract with the Chicago Blackhawks in late June, David Bolland is now working on another contract: the one to purchase a seven-bedroom house in Lake View.

Bolland was drafted by the Blackhawks in 2004 and skated for the London (Ontario) Knights and the Rockford Ice Hogs until November 2007, when he moved up to the Blackhawks. In the 2008-2009 season, Bolland scored 19 goals and had 28 assists; in post-season play, he had four goals and eight assists as the team advanced to the Western Conference finals.

The house is new, built by Double P Builders in what was once an industrial section of Lake View around Diversey Avenue and Paulina Street; several dozen new upscale homes have been built there in the past decade. This house is one of two homes built by Double P Builders on a parcel of land for which the company paid $1,672,500 in May 2006. The brick and limestone house has four-plus bathrooms, an elevator, and three decks, including a large one atop the three-car garage.

Bolland has not yet closed on the purchase. Daniel Vianna, one of the @Properties agents representing the house for the builders, confirmed that the home is under contract. He would not discuss the purchaser, and I could not reach Bolland for comment.

Price Points: In 2008, the builders had the house listed with a different agent and priced at $2.349 million. When Vianna and his colleague Beth Wexner got the listing early this year, they started out with the price at $1.999 million. They later reduced it to $1.849 million. Vianna would not say what the contracted price is.
