Robin Robinson, who’s been an anchor at FoxChicago for 26 years, on Monday sold her Bucktown home six months after putting it on the market.

Robinson listed the five-bedroom house for sale in mid-March, asking $1.299 million. In June, she lowered the price to $1.23 million, and in July, the home went under contract. The sale closed Monday at $1.175 million, or about ten percent less than she had originally wanted for it.

The house was built on an extra-wide lot (36 feet; the city norm is 25 feet) in 1987. Robinson moved in ten years later, but it’s not clear what she paid for it. Last spring, the Chicago Tribune reported that she had paid $520,000 for the house in 1997. But the Cook County Recorder of Deeds documents, which in this case don’t show a purchase price, show that her mortgage amount at that time was $521,100—more than the Trib reported as her full purchase price.

Robinson has not yet responded to my requests for comment; if she replies, she may clear up the purchase price question.

When she put the house on the market, she said she was selling because with the younger of her two children now 15 years old, she was looking into downsizing.

The house, just a few blocks from the North/Damen/Milwaukee epicenter of all that is hip, has decks off the kitchen and off the second-floor master bedroom. As the listing photos show, it has a largely open main floor, many stone and tile finishes, and a large kitchen with wood cabinets and a stainless steel backsplash. There are three upstairs bedrooms and two more in the basement, and three full baths plus one partial.
