Some people have a signature little black dress—I have my go-to gold gems. There’s a pair of champagne crystal drop-earrings made by a local designer named Kristen Amato in my jewelry box, and they’ve danced with me through at least a dozen weddings. Amato sells her line, K.Amato, in boutiques around Chicago and in stores across the country.
Three times a year, her $28-$98 (nothing costs more than $100!) jewelry line goes from reasonably priced to ridiculous. At K.Amato’s annual holiday sale this week, all regularly priced jewelry gets discounted, with hundreds of pieces marked down to $5, $10, and $15.
Find the three-day sale on Wednesday at the Sofitel Hotel (20 E. Chestnut St.) from 5 to 8 p.m.; Thursday at the K.Amato store (1229 W. Diversey Ave., 773-880-9101) from 3 to 8 p.m.; and Friday at K.Amato from 12 to 6 p.m.
