Tonia Kim, the designer behind TOKI Jewelry (“toki” translates to “rabbit” in Korean) opens her studio once a year for a holiday sample sale—and you get to peek inside her creative space and stock up on pendants, bracelets, earrings, and rings (all discounted by up to 75 percent).
Kim forges her designs by hand, resulting in an organic, purposefully imperfect aesthetic that mixes hard with soft; a hammered bronze pendant is paired with Japanese silk and cotton cord (originally $198, on sale for $78) and cobalt blue lapis stone necklace is adorned with a whimsical bird’s head (originally $398, on sale for $180).
Score the goods Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Kim’s studio is located at 1422 West Willow Street, Suite 200, in the middle of the industrial corridor just west of Lincoln Park. Just as soon as you start thinking you’ve made a wrong turn, you’re there.
