There's a good chance someone you know is getting engaged on Friday. When it happens, direct her to Sarah Seven (530 W. Arlington Pl.), opening this weekend, and let her bask in the pre-planning bliss by looking at pretty things.
Bridal designer Sarah Seven is opening her eponymous boutique in Lincoln Park on Saturday, and will be at the store this weekend to help brides find "the one." Seven's gowns are vintage-inspired, elegant and wearable, with intricate details adding to the romance of each design. I love that the dresses are handcrafted in the U.S., and the Oakland-based designer uses natural fabrics and recycled vintage materials in her gowns.
The intimate, 1,100 square-foot boutique will also carry short styles for non-traditional brides and accessories that complement each style. Dresses range from $1,800 to $5,000 and accessories are priced $150 to $495. Considering some bridal salons in Chicago begin their prices where Sarah Seven's ends, it's a welcome addition to the local bridal market.
For opening weekend, the salon is holding a trunk show and offering a 10 percent discount on dress orders placed on Saturday and Sunday. Opening weekend hours are Saturday, February 15 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, February 16 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The boutique operates by appointment only, which can be made at sarahseven.com.
