For three years, Melanie Thomas and her two daughters have run Comfort Me Boutique (701 W. Armitage Ave., 312-255-1412, comfortmeboutique.com) with sincere intentions. The majority of apparel and accessories in this Lincoln Park women’s shop are made by local designers, in the USA or fair trade. The environmentally conscious family also keeps it green with a curated selection of vintage home goods, flea market finds, and organic gifts.

On Saturday, June 28, the cozy shop celebrates its third anniversary with treats and refreshments from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. All denim and handbags will be marked 15 percent off and sale merchandise will be an additional 15 percent off. From noon to 4 p.m., local designer Christina Karin will personally showcase her latest line of cocktail dresses and separates (mostly in the $100–$300 range).
