Lauren Wendt, 31, and Claire Snarski, 30, are two fresh, welcome faces on the Chicago blog scene. They started Foxtail + Moss last December as a way to share their crafty DIY projects, local finds, and love for all things vintage.

A hairstylist and graphic designer by day, these ladies have a keen eye for style. Their look is heavily influenced by their desire to live simply and eco-consciously. "Both of us, in our younger years, pretty much exclusively wore vintage clothes," Wendt says. "As we've gotten older, our style has changed and we incorporate more modern pieces."

In the fall, the Logan Square–based bloggers plan to open a Foxtail + Moss e-shop, curated with their favorite handmade goods from local artists and makers. While we wait for that, they let us in on where to find the dreamy dresses and bold accessories filling their closets. Here, in their own words, Foxtail + Moss’s favorite places to shop in Chicago.

Tarnish in West Town
If Easy Rider spawned a boutique, Tarnish would be it. They carry a ton of handmade, repurposed, upcycled, and locally-designed clothes and accessories for bad ass babes and fellas along with a few items for the home. And holy moly, do they have some amazing vintage turquoise rings!

Tusk in Logan Square
We like to think of Tusk as our little secret, with its stunning minimalist store front tucked away on a less-traveled stretch of Armitage. But those in the know frequent the shop for its unique collection of vintage, handmade, and locally-made clothing and accessories.

Moon Voyage in Wicker Park
Everything in Moon Voyage is worth drooling over. Between the clothes (think L.A. boho chick meets New York fashion blogger), the jewelry, and the décor, we just want to live in this store.
2010 W. Pierce Ave., 773-423-8853, shopmoonvoyage.com

Meadowlark in Humboldt Park
Meadowlark carries a small and carefully curated selection of women's vintage clothing that actually feel on-trend and modern. Be prepared to leave with an armload of floaty blouses and Elaine Benes–inspired floral dresses thanks to their incredibly affordable prices.
1107 N California Ave., 312-568-9313, facebook.com/shopmeadowlark

Ad Hoc in Ukranian Village
Ad Hoc may be a boutique full of beautiful and trendy clothing and home accessories by day, but we'll let you in on a cool little secret. At night, Ad Hoc transforms into a gallery and event space where local artists can showcase their work and the community can come together to collaborate. There's really nothing else like it in Chicago and we find that incredibly exciting!
1948 W Chicago Ave., 312- 343-9991, chicagoadhoc.com

Market Supply Co. in Pilsen
Market Supply Co. has the perfect mix of vintage and handmade eco-friendly clothing and accessories. We love to browse Dethrose Vintage's racks of fluffy 1950s prom dresses while our guys try on flannels and denim from MidNorth Mercantile. We almost never leave empty handed!
Editor's note: Market Supply Co. is temporarily closed while it moves to a new location. The new store at 1147 W. 18th St. is set to open on September 12.
