Neighborly
This friendly North Center shop is owned by the city's unofficial map maker, Jenny Beorkrem of Ork Posters. Her typographic neighborhood posters ($35) are just one small part of the Chicago-themed art, home goods and quirky gifts sold at the store. There's barware, baby gear, and more in this shop's huge assortment of Midwest-made merchandise emblazoned with the Chicago flag.

Milk Handmade
The collection of locally made women's apparel at this Andersonville boutique is great for people who want to show Chicago pride without it being all about a sports team. Milk's owner Hallie Borden delivers the sweet stuff with vintage Chicago tees screenprinted by People's Garment Company ($28) and Megan Lee's "Midwest is Best" shirts ($28).

Foursided 
It's a custom framing gallery, a greeting card store, a vintage shop, and a gift emporium. Foursided can't really be defined, but it’s the perfect place to go get lost for an hour. Chicago prints, posters, maps, and cards line the walls, with a mish-mash of miscellania filling the spaces in between. You may come in for a letterpressed birthday card, but leave with a miniature Captain Kirk figurine.
