With March coming soon, I’m (overly?) optimistically switching my hat-related thoughts from “stocking cap for the survival’s sake” to “cute hat for fashion’s sake.” My first acquisition of the season is this classically chic fedora. Hand-woven from paper (versus straw), the cap is from New Jersey–based David and Young is priced for a lady on a shoestring budget. But that doesn’t stop A-listers from flocking to it: I’m told Reese Witherspoon recently sported this particular style. Come spring, I’ll pop mine on for a weekend errand run; in summer, I’ll pair it with my bathing suit during a beach getaway in Michigan. For now, it’ll hang in my closet, reminding me that there are balmier days ahead.
