Perchance Is Closing and the Sale Is On

A casualty of the polar vortex, upscale Gold Coast boutique Perchance, located below the Waldorf Astoria, is officially closing. The store has been displaced since January 8, when a busted pipe in the hotel flooded the store. “Needless to say, this event has been catastrophic for us,” owner Mary Liz Lehman said in an e-mail. “As a result, after almost seven years in business, I write to you with a heavy heart to share that Perchance must close its doors permanently.”

As part of the closing process, Perchance is holding a liquidation sale at the Waldorf-Astoria’s Faulkner Ballroom (11 E. Walton St., level 5, 312-646-1440) this week. The ballroom is packed full of merchandise, including brand new spring items from high-end, cotemporary women’s designers like Shoshanna, Tibi, Diane Von Furstenberg, Elizabeth and James, Vince, and Habitual.

The sale runs now through Saturday, March 29 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. Sale items are marked up to 85 percent off, and non-marked full price items are 20 percent off. All sales are final. A note for drivers: Perchance will validate three-hour valet parking at the Waldorf-Astoria for $18.

After Saturday, the sale will continue online at perchanceboutique.com through April 18. Prices are marked as-is, or use code VIP20 for 20 percent off anything still marked full price.
