Seventeen artists, ranging from furniture makers and prop stylists to jewelry designers and fine artists, are holding a Collectors Bazaar this weekend in the West Loop. Ranging from beautiful and inspirational objects to the straight-up weird, nothing about this sale is conventional.
The bazaar will feature the objects the artists live with and are inspired by, including vintage miscellanea, home décor, odd accruals, raw materials, tools, costumery, and more. Some of the items listed at the sale include:
- Vintage clothing, accessories, and jewelry
- Beads, findings, buttons, and fabric
- Tools
- Vintage light fixtures, globes, dish sets
- Old photos, frames, odd family heirlooms
- Taxidermy
- Golden bones
- Art books and publications
No word yet on how much the golden bones cost, but most items at the sale will be in the $5 to $60 range.
Find the Collectors Bazaar at Open Secret Studios (401 N. Racine Ave., 312-399-8343) on Friday, May 30 from 6 to 11 p.m. and Saturday, May 31 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Refreshments will be served on Friday evening and food trucks will be parked outside.
