It’s easy to find a decent black crewneck sweater: apparel stores swim in them every year. But a minimalist sweater in navy blue had long eluded me. Given that fall’s hottest hue—oxblood—looks especially terrific with navy, this problem was becoming significant.

Then I discovered that Barneys recently unveiled a new collection by Theory, a line that reliably delivers up timeless womenswear basics. The collection (called, fittingly, Theory Icon) includes this navy cashmere crewneck with elbow-length sleeves in, yes, navy.
