September 8, 2011--The Find Antiques opened their second location in West Town after seven years on the North Shore. The Find and Chicago Home + Garden partnered together to officially open the store to the public. October 4, 2011--Chicago's design community met at the DreamHome in the Merchandise Mart to celebrate the official launch of Chicago Home + Garden's new coffee table book, Chicago Spaces: Inspiring Interiors. Chicago Home + Garden staff members mingled with guests and signed copies of the book throughout the evening. Launch party sponsors included the DreamHome at the Merchandise Mart and Nick's Fish Market.

October 1 & 2, 2011--The 2nd edition of the Design Harvest Festival proved to be a mecca for design fashionistas, with droves of enthusiasts turning out to celebrate the consortium of local design vendors. Under picturesque autumn skies, furniture & accessory makers, vintage stores, antique dealers and local home design retailers popped-up shop with their latest creations as visitors perused the displays, finding new ways to beautify their homes.

Chicago Home + Garden was a media sponsor of the festival and returned with their Designer Meet Up Lounge offering complimentary consultations for attendees with Chicago's best interior designers. Room & Board provided gorgeous pieces of furniture for the lounge and consultations. Beautiful terrariums were graciously donated by Sprout Home, in honor of their new how-to terrarium classes.

September 15, 2011-- Common Threads' culinary fundraising event raised $28,000 to benefit health and nutritional education programs in Chicago to low income youth and their families. Local chefs participated at Fulton's on the River to create and serve their favorite cook-out themed dishes within four categories--in a glass, on a bun, in a shell, or on a stick. Guests sampled each dish and voted for the top in each category. The winning chefs of the night were: Chao Thapthimkuna of Union Sushi + Barbeque Bar for In a Glass; David Blonsky of Public House and Mike Bellovich of Hub51 for In a Shell; Sarah Grueneberg of Spiaggia for On a Bun; and Scott Halverson of Prasino for On a Stick.
