August 25, 2011 ---The Greater North Michigan Avenue Association (GNMAA) and Chicago magazine kicked off In-Fashion: The Magnificent Mile Shopping Festival presented by MasterCard®, the nation’s first shopping festival. GNMAA members gathered on the Terrace Rooftop l Bar l Restaurant at the Conrad Chicago to celebrate the occasion. Partygoers sipped “Passion for Fashions” while enjoying the fine hors d’oeuvres and In-Fashion model showcases. August 11, 2011––Chicago magazine partnered with Mercedes-Benz Chicagoland Dealers and Balani Custom Clothiers to host the first annual “Men of Style” event. The event served to recognize five local men as the Mercedes Men of Style. The honorees were picked for contributions they have made in their field, to the city, and for being a man known for style. The five men honored were: Jason Berngard, Jon Conway, Shane Inman, Rob Katz, and Matt Sapaula. Read more

Local Chicagoans joined together for a night of beer and music at The Scout, a new bar in the south loop. July 27, 2011--Chicago magazine hosted the “Best of Chicago” event at 445 N. Michigan Avenue venue to honor the August issue’s editorial honorees. The winners, their guests and some fellow “Best of” winners enjoyed complimentary cocktails by Tito’s Homemade Vodka and Victoria Beer along with delicious hors d’oeuvres. The guests were also able to splurge at the candy station, cool down at the Italian ice station and snap their best shot at the traveling photo booth. Features editor, Jennifer Tanaka, congratulated all the winners in attendance. August 4, 2011--The VIP Kitchen Walk Party was held at the Sub-Zero/Wolf showroom in The Merchandise Mart on August 4th. More than 100 guests enjoyed food and wine pairings from chef Craig Bell. Raffle prizes included Ravinia tickets and wine baskets from William Hill. Proceeds from the event benefited the work of Designs for Dignity. Read more
July 14, 2011--PAWS Chicago, the city's largest No Kill, humane organization hosted the 9th Annual Beach Party on Thursday, July 14th at Castaways Boathouse at North Avenue Beach. This year's event had more than 400 people and 100 dogs in attendance, making it one of Chicago's largest pet-friendly social gatherings. The event was co-chaired by Dawn and Jim O'Neal and Nancy and Ron Officer. Presented by North Community Bank, Pomellato, and Bonnie and James L. Spurlock, the Beach Party was a great success and raised more than $210,000 for homeless pets! Read more
