December 8, 2010 --- Chicago magazine celebrated its 40th anniversary with 300 guests at The James Chicago Hotel. Guests were treated to delicious bites provided by David Burke's Primehouse, as well as a luxury prize package raffle from sponsors Abt, Balani Custom Clothiers, Burdeen's Jewelry, Carson Pirie Scott, Circa, chalk boutique, Clifford Law Offices, The James Chicago Hotel, L'Occitane, Macy's, and White House Black Market. November 12, 2010 -- More than 700 attendees gathered at The Drake Hotel for an evening of elegance and compassion, raising more than $700,000 for Chicago's homeless animals. The event catered to both people and pets with a dinner buffet and dancing. Sponsors included A. Marek Fine Jewelry, Saks Fifth Avenue, and The Drake Hotel. October 20, 2010 – The 3rd annual Mario, Make Me a Model contest, presented by smartwater® & Chicago magazine, concluded with five finalists walking the runway with professional Ford models. The fashion show not only highlighted the contest finalists but also showcased collections from five Chicago designers. Mario Tricoci announced the winner of the competition at the end of the show.

November 3, 2010- More than 200 guests, including members of Chicago’s design community, Chicago Home + Garden readers, and friends of the magazine, gathered at The Tile Gallery to celebrate the first-ever Chairs for Charity event. One-of-a-kind chairs, created by fifteen of Chicago’s top designers, were auctioned off via a silent auction. Guests enjoyed cocktails and hors d’oeuvres from District Bar, Floriole, Abigails American Bistro, More, Paula & Monica’s, and UV Vodka. The event raised more than $10,000 for Designs for Dignity, which provides pro bono design services to area nonprofits. Read more
October 16, 2010- The 2010 Kitchen Walk featured a tour of seven unique kitchens in Harbor County, Michigan. Guests enjoyed sampling food and wine from local chef demonstrators, while viewing innovative kitchen designs. The event concluded with a reception and silent auction. October 6, 2010 – Van Gogh BLUE Vodka and Chicago magazine teamed up to present “Drink, Dish & Pose” at The Beauty Bar. Four of Chicago’s most vivacious ladies, Ginger Zee, Kelli Zink, Megan Taylor, and April Francis, hosted the girls night out event, complete with signature Van Gogh BLUE cocktails (Kelli Zink’s Cosmojo was the crowd favorite!) and cupcakes from More. Inspired by photos taken at a pre-event Vavoom Pinup photo shoot, guests were invited to strike a pose of their own at a live shoot that evening. Partygoers also participated in a raffle, and four lucky guests were selected to receive a very special Van Gogh BLUE prize. Read more

September 22, 2010 – Chicago Home + Garden magazine teamed up with the American Society of Interior Designers to present “Picture This” at The Chopping Block in The Merchandise Mart. Amid hor d’oeuvres and cocktails, readers received free, in-person design advice from ASID designers. Guests brought photos of their spaces for the professionals, who sketched out possible solutions to each reader’s design dilemma. Guests also enjoyed a brief presentation by ASID president Joan Kaufman on the benefits of hiring a professional designer. Read more
