July 28, 2010 - Chicago magazine kicked off its 40th anniversary celebration with the “Best of Chicago” event on Market’s Rooftop Lounge to honor the 2010 August issue’s editorial honorees. Dick Babcock, editor-in-chief, recognized and congratulated all the winners in attendance. June 24, 2010 - On June 24th, The Chicago History Museum hosted FashioNext- an insider fashion event and competition where three established Chicago designers competed to create a piece to be permanently added to the exhibition- I Do! Chicago Ties the Knot at the Chicago History Museum. The winners Carla Hwang and Kenneth Park showcased their elaborate gowns alongside fellow contestants Caroline DeVillo and Katrin Schnabl. Mario Tricoci provided hair and make-up styling for the runway presentation, and over 400 guests were able to enjoy the new E350 Cabriolet courtesy of Mercedes-Benz upon entering the museum. June 22, 2010 - Chicago magazine and Garmin partnered to showcase the G1000 at a private demonstration event for aviation VIPs at the Garmin Michigan Avenue location. May 21, 2010 - The I Do! Chicago Ties the Knot Preview Luncheon was held at the Chicago History Museum and hosted by the Costume Council and Guild of the Chicago Historical Society. The luncheon was a preview to kick-off the I Do! Chicago Ties the Knot exhibition which opened in May 2010, and supported the FashioNext Finale competition, held at the Museum on June 24th, 2010. May 8, 2010 - Chicago magazine and the Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders Association, Inc. teamed up in support of the 2010 Chicago Rita Hayworth Gala at the Fairmont Chicago Millennium Park. Princess Yasmin Aga Khan held the first Rita Hayworth Gala in 1985 to honor her mother, actress Rita Hayworth, who died as a result of Alzheimer's disease. Since then, the annual gala has grown into a premier social event that has raised more than $18 million to support the Alzheimer’s Association. Read more

June 12, 2010 – On June 12th, Heartland Alliance held the 17th annual Celebration of Home & Garden in Harbor Country, Michigan. Over 850 guests came out to enjoy the day and tour eight magnificent and unique properties. The tour began with check-in at Lovell & Whyte and concluded with a reception and silent auction at Burnison Galleries. The event was sponsored by Rika Yoshida and Joe Mansueto, the Sara Lee Foundation, and Chicago Home + Garden.

The 17th Annual Celebration of Home & Garden benefitted the work of Heartland Alliance for Human Needs & Human Rights, an organization that helps people who are threatened by poverty or danger to improve their lives and realize their human rights.

Attendees got caught up on current design trends from the famed Fab Seven— Britain's top interior designers. Over 1,000 guests gathered to enjoy an evening complete with tasty hors d’oeuvres from 13 of the city’s hottest restaurants, an array of signature cocktails, a silent auction, a Hawaiian vacation raffle, a photo booth, green carpet, dancing, and much more.
